A lot of mistakes were made by the UG offense, however, the defense held strong and held them out of the end zone every possession. Audie Murphy battled hard by making big plays on special teams and taking back a pick 6 to allow them to stay in the game.
Every time Audie Murphy scored, the Grizzlies would respond. Big plays of the night included Derrick Flowers taking a run play 45 yards for a touchdown, Chris Williams took a screen pass 50 yards for a touchdown, and Jordan Rosario punched in a goal line touchdown. Some outstanding defensive players include Demarkous Grandberry with an Interception, Jordan Rosario with multiple sacks and TFLs, Tristan Legrand with some big hits, and Nicholas Tigue with outstanding coverage and pass breakups. At the end of the game, the Grizzlies edged out a 21-20 WIN!
Coach Tomgenovich and Coach Sloan are very proud of the boys for their resilience and fight. We are looking forward to our next matchup on Tuesday against Live Oak Ridge Middle School.
Go Grizzlies!
