🚗 JDA DISMISSAL REMINDER

As we prepare for dismissal:

• All parent pickup is in the parent loop at the SOUTH side of the building.
• There is no park-and-pickup option.
• Please do not enter the student waiting area.
• Stay in the center pickup lane and pull all the way forward.
• Even if you see your child farther back, continue forward—your student will come to you.
• Once your student is in the vehicle, use the left lane to exit.

🚌 Bus families: Please download the SMART Tag Parent App using the email connected to your student's registration. You can track boarding, the bus's GPS location, and drop-off. We strongly recommend turning on notifications and set preferences.

JDA Families,

What a GREAT first day! Thank you for your patience, grace, and flexibility as we worked through the normal first-day kinks. We are so proud of our Roadrunners and grateful for your partnership!

A few reminders for tomorrow:

Student IDs: All students will receive their JDA ID during 2nd period.

Parent Pickup: Pickup is in the back of the school. Please stay in the middle lane, pull all the way forward, and use the left lane to exit once your child is in the vehicle. We do not have a park-and-pick-up option. Please remind students to actively look for your vehicle, and for safety, parents should not enter the student waiting area.

Bus Riders: Please download the SMART Tag Parent App to track your student's bus in real time. We learned today that drivers must select an additional option to see students listed as “inactive,” which caused most of the bus issues. Transportation is aware and tracking the concern.

We are currently tracking one bus with 22 JDA students still en route home. They have encountered high school dismissal traffic, so we expect them home soon. The SMART Tag app will provide the most current location.

Please remind students to look for their four-digit route number when finding their bus.

Boys & Girls Club: Free for all JDA students with registration, open until 6:30 p.m., with snacks provided. Pickup is at Door 27 near the courtyard gates.

Thank you again for helping make Day 1 such a positive start. We learned a lot today, and tomorrow will be even smoother!

Go Roadrunners! ❤️💙

For our bus families, please give routes and arrival times a little grace this first week as transportation settles into its flow.

⚠️ IMPORTANT HAC REMINDER

Schedules currently showing in HAC are NOT final.

Our team is still actively building the master schedule. Classes, teachers, periods, electives, and other information may continue changing.

➡️ Please do not use HAC to determine your child's schedule yet.
➡️ Please do not submit schedule-change requests yet.
➡️ JDA will contact families when schedules are ready to review.

🎒 Getting Ready for Day One
• Backpacks are allowed (Clear or mesh only)
• No academic lockers this year
• Dress code begins Day One
• JDA is phone-free using Yondr procedures
• Students will follow our daily safety-entry procedures
• Clear water bottles are encouraged

And remember: students do not need to arrive already knowing the building or every procedure. We will teach, practice, support, and help them through it.

👕 Cleaning out closets for new school clothes?

JDA is accepting gently used, school-appropriate clothing for our campus clothing closet. Middle-school sizes are especially helpful.

These donations allow us to discreetly support students who may need assistance with dress code or appropriate clothing during the school day.

Good evening, JDA Families! 💙❤️

This week’s Roadrunner Revue is our final newsletter of the school year, and the principal message is a little longer than usual—but please take time to read it in full. It includes important end-of-year information about STAAR results, summer school, 8th Grade Celebration, Yondr pouch turn-in, final-week dismissal expectations, surveys, and more.

As we finish strong together, we are grateful for your partnership, proud of the growth we have seen this year, and excited for what is ahead for JDA. Thank you for helping us close the year with Intentional Impact by Design.

Please read this week’s newsletter carefully so your family is prepared for the final days of school.

Yondr
Good evening, JDA Families! The phone surrender situation is no longer sustainable. As we prepare for Yondr pouch turn-in, we ask that all students use their Yondr pouch tomorrow instead of surrendering their phones. Beginning tomorrow, we will no longer be accepting phone surrenders, as we simply cannot accommodate the current volume of devices being turned in each day. Please remember that the phone-free expectations are still in effect. If a phone is seen or heard during the school day, it will be confiscated according to district expectations. We have also started pre-checks on Yondr pouches in preparation for official turn-in on Tuesday and Wednesday. Please help your student ensure that they bring their pouch each day and that it is in good condition. Yondr pouches cost $26. Fines can be paid on the school store. Additionally, today was the last day of tutorials for the school year, and tomorrow will be the final day of Boys & Girls Club. There are no other after-school activities scheduled tomorrow or any day next week. Supper will still be served every day through the end of the year. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work to maintain a focused, safe, and distraction-free learning environment for all students. #IntentionalImpactByDesign
